aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is the practice of using the natural oils of flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots and other parts of a plant to enhance mental and physical well-being. A personalised session includes a full consultation. Clinical therapist Heidi will make an assessment of which modalities may be useful. In agreement with yourself these may include a full or partial body massage in combination with reflexology points and clinically prescribed or blended aromatherapy oils.
The session will also include full healthcare and lifestyle advice and include oil recommendations for you to use at home and use of these aromatherapy oils as an application to skin or inhaled via room diffusers. We can also advise on the purchase of suitable diffusers which will not damage these precious oils. Our therapists will advise you fully on safe use as it’s important to handle essential oils carefully and dilute according to instructions.
Many essential oils cannot be used neat on your skin, exceptions would be lavender and tea tree oil, It’s also important not to swallow oils or apply directly inside the body (for example, inside the nostril or ear).
Aromatherapy benefits may include:
- Stress Relief
- Anxiety Symptoms improvement
- Tension Relief
- Mood improvement
- Sleep aid
- A feeling of better health and wellness
