Collect in Neath or Post UK-Wide
Most people choose to collect from us in person at our Neath pharmacies. Once your prescription is ready, we’ll arrange a convenient collection time and can also offer our 24/7 collection options for eligible medicines.
If your prescription has been sent electronically or we have received the original paper copy, we can also post medicines within the UK. Parcels are packed discreetly and sent using a tracked service where appropriate. Unfortunately we are not able to post medicines outside the UK.

How much is a private prescription?
There is usually a prescriber’s consultation fee (if your prescription was issued privately) and a separate medicine cost which you pay to the pharmacy. Our prices vary depending on the medicine and strength, so we recommend contacting us with the details so we can give you an estimate before dispensing.
Can any pharmacy dispense my private prescription?
Most community pharmacies, including The Health Dispensary in Neath, can dispense private prescriptions as long as they are written by an appropriate UK prescriber and the medicine is available. You are free to choose which pharmacy dispenses your prescription.
Do you accept electronic private prescriptions?
Yes, where systems allow, we can accept electronic private prescriptions sent directly to us from UK prescribers. If your clinician isn’t sure how to do this, they can contact the pharmacy for our details.
Can you post my private prescription medicine?
We are unable to send the medication by post. A valid prescription is required, and the medication must be collected from our pharmacy. We are unable to send medicines overseas.

How do I get a private prescription for period delay?
If you don’t already have a prescription, you may be able to request period delay treatment via our online pharmacist prescribing service. Visit our Conditions A–Z page and complete the short questionnaire for period delay – one of our prescribers will review it and let you know if treatment is suitable for you.
